The Ethical Property Foundation was established in 2004 by our sister organisation the Ethical Property Company, in response to a lack of independent property advice for charities and community groups.

The Foundation launched its charity specific Property Advice Service in 2005 to provide independent information, advice and training to organisations leasing, buying or managing premises. By building the sector’s knowledge and confidence around premises issues and ensuring they have access to good professional advice the Foundation aims to make property a boost rather than a burden to charitable organisations.

Launched initially in London, the Property Advice Service expanded into Bristol in early 2007 and has already assisted more than 250 organisations with their property dealings.

In addition to providing property advice to charitable organisations the Foundation is currently exploring how it can influence the main stream commercial property sector to improve both its environmental and social performance.
